Anna Maria Island has made significant strides toward recovery after Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and while work continues, many homes and businesses are already ready to host visitors. The weather is wonderful, nature preserves are flourishing, and iconic restaurants are serving delicious meals once again, all showcasing the enduring spirit and beauty of our destination.

Are the beaches open?

All beaches in Holmes Beach including the Manatee Public Beach have reopened, and Coquina Beach will be welcoming visitors very soon. Beaches in the city of Anna Maria are currently all open to the public. Bradenton Beach is open with the exception of Coquina.

Is it safe to visit Anna Maria Island?

Absolutely. Cleanup efforts are progressing smoothly, and numerous businesses have already resumed operations, with many more expected to open within the next 30 days.

How can I access Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key?

All bridges are open, and both Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are accessible to all traffic.

Is it safe to swim at the beaches?

Yes, the Florida Department of Health regularly tests our beach water and has confirmed that it is safe for recreational use. Check out Florida Health’s beach water quality site for more information. As always, remember to observe the lifeguard station flags for current surf conditions.

Is the sand safe to walk on?

Yes! Our sandy beaches are safe for relaxation and sandcastle building. The renourishment efforts have been successful, and our shores are ready to be enjoyed.

When will the City Pier and Rod and Reel Pier re-open?

Unfortunately, for the time being at least, these two piers are closed indefinitely
